UK grad students plan donation drives to support local and global causes

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 5, 2025) — For students in the University of Kentucky College of Education, giving back to the community is more than a good deed — it’s part of the learning experience.   Graduate students in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion are once again putting their classroom lessons into action through a series of donation drives to support local and global causes. 

Research and Professional Enhancement GradResearch Live brings three minute research talks to The Cornerstone on Nov. 5 Graduate students share clear, three minute stories with one static slide. The event is free and open to the campus and the community.

Graduate students take the stage for GradResearch Live on Wednesday, Nov. 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Esports Theater at The Cornerstone. The format features three minute talks with a single slide and is designed for a general audience. Family and friends are welcome.

Celebrating Kentucky’s Legacy of Discovery and Innovation Cracking the Code: Phil Sharp and the Biotech Revolution Join the University of Kentucky community for the premiere of Cracking the Code: Phil Sharp and the Biotech Revolution, a documentary honoring Nobel laureate Phil Sharp and his groundbreaking RNA discovery that helped launch the biotechnology industry.

Join us for the premiere of Cracking the Code: Phil Sharp and the Biotech Revolution at the Kentucky Theatre. The 96-minute screening is followed by a panel with University of Kentucky researchers and innovators. Tickets are available in advance or at the door.
