What is Professional Enhancement?

The Office of Graduate Student Professional Enhancement (GSPE) fosters scholarly and professional growth, pedagogical and career success, and holistic wellbeing. As a centralized resource, we offer a variety of in-person and online programs and services, enriched by a broad spectrum of campus partnerships. We also provide a supportive and collaborative environment, complementing departmental academic pursuits, where graduate students can engage in networking, discover transdisciplinary collaborations, and explore diverse career paths.

Spring 2026 Professional Development Courses

In partnership with CELT and Educational Policy Studies and Evaluation, the Office of Graduate Student Professional Enhancement (GSPE) offers the professional development courses linked below for spring 2026. Courses may be taken as individually or as a set leading to a Graduate Certificate in College Teaching and Learning (GCCTL). Graduate students may register for these courses as they do their degree courses.

How Can We Help?

Chad Gilpin serves graduate and professional students by implementing and managing professional development programs and resources to support them in their academic journeys. He is committed to helping students diversify their graduate experiences to better prepare them to achieve their goals. Chad would love to help you find the professional development resources and opportunities that are right for you.

Abbie Wood serves to assist all UK graduate and professional students with their career and professional development. This includes assisting students with career exploration, job and internship searching, creating and revising job documents, interview preparation, salary and offer negotiation, career assessments, and more! Abbie would love to meet you and help you chart your career!
