University-wide Navigation

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 17, 2025) The University of Kentucky is closing the fall term with a look back at the opportunities graduate and professional students used to grow, connect, and advance their development. This is your 2025 Wrapped. Impactful moments. Real progress. Momentum for what comes next.

Students turned opportunity into momentum

Across 2025, students stepped onto stages, into labs, and across studios to share work and build skills. GradResearch Live filled the Esports Theater at The Cornerstone with three minute talks that made complex ideas clear and sent winners on to regional competition in the spring.

Students also presented at the Sustainability Showcase and Research Poster Competition, where graduate and undergraduate entries aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and winners were announced on Oct. 30.

Mentorship that meets students where they are

Through the Start-to-Finish Mentorship Program, graduate and professional students connected with faculty, staff, alumni, and peers for one-to-one guidance that supports growth from the first semester to the next career step. The program’s multi tier model is offered in partnership with CGPS and Graduate Student Congress and is now hosted on the Wildcat Network.

A hub for connection and support

The Center for Graduate and Professional Services (CGPS) welcomed students to study spaces, printing, and resource navigation across two locations, while focusing on recruitment and retention that supports the full graduate and professional community.

Career workshops that translate training into next steps

The Stuckert Career Center delivered the Exploring Career Paths for Graduate Students series led by career advisor Abbie Wood, with sessions on industry, government, nonprofit, consulting, education, and writing and publishing. Students left with clearer language for skills, insight on roles, and practical actions for applications and networking.

Finals encouragement for graduate students

One focused block can change momentum. A clear outcome in mind turns scattered effort into steady progress.
Clarity carries the day. When the core problem, the approach, and why it matters stand out, the work lands with confidence.
Support makes strong work stronger. A second set of eyes, a quick question, or a short conversation often unlocks the next step.
Staying connected reduces stress. Simple updates to mentors build trust and keep everyone aligned as deadlines approach.
Energy is part of the plan. Rest, movement, and small resets help ideas arrive when it counts.

Looking ahead

Congratulations on closing out a full and demanding semester. Take the time to breathe, reset, and enjoy the people who helped you get here. A quiet week, a favorite place to read, or a short trip home can do more for your focus than another late night. Your effort showed up in classrooms, clinics, studios, labs, and community spaces across campus. That work matters and it adds up.

When you return in January, you will step back into a campus ready to meet you where you are. Mentorship matches continue through Start to Finish, CGPS spaces stay central for study and community, and career workshops build on what you learned this fall with practical sessions that translate your training into next steps. Writing support returns early in the term so drafts can move to polished submissions. If you presented this semester, consider turning your talk into a spring class visit or using it as a starting point for a conference proposal.

Keep an eye on funding and award timelines as you plan the first weeks of 2026. A short list of targets, a simple calendar, and one early application can shift momentum in your favor. If you need clarity, ask for it. Advisors, staff partners, and peers are ready to help you shape a plan that fits your goals.

Most of all, carry forward the confidence you earned this year! You learned new methods, built stronger networks, and communicated your ideas with purpose. Enjoy the break. Rest well. We are excited to welcome you back in 2026 and see where you take your work next.
