You are invited to the documentary film premiere of Cracking the Code: Phil Sharp and the Biotech Revolution at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, at the Kentucky Theatre. The 96-minute screening will be followed by a panel conversation with researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs from the University of Kentucky, including Ian McClure, Chelsea Ex-Lubeskie, and Drs. Luke Bradley, Mark Ebbert, and Mary Sheppard.
Cracking the Code, directed by Bill Haney and narrated by Mark Ruffalo, chronicles the life of Nobel laureate Phil Sharp, from his beginnings on a Kentucky farm to his groundbreaking discovery of RNA splicing at MIT, a finding that helped launch the modern biotechnology industry.
