Two UK Graduate Students honored at the 2019 Conference of Southern Graduate Schools

Two UK graduate students were honored last week at the Conference of Southern Graduate Schools at the Crowne Plaza in Knoxville, Tennessee.  Anna Bedsole, UK’s 2018-19 Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) winner, competed in the Regional 3MT competition and earned the People’s Choice award in her heat.  Anna is a PhD candidate in English.  Her 3MT was titled “Gothic Heroines and #MeToo.”  Andrew Holcomb, a recent graduate of UK’s master’s program in Geology, received the 2019 Outstanding Master’s Thesis Award from the Conference of Southern Graduate Schools and ProQuest.  His thesis is titled "Initial Microseismic Recordings at the Onset of Unconventional Hydrocarbon Development in the Rome Trough, Eastern Kentucky."  His thesis won in the Math, Physical Science, and Engineering category of the competition.  Congratulations to Anna and Andrew.
