Dissertation Boot Camp

Thesis/Dissertation Boot Camp

Summer 2018 Thesis/Dissertation Boot Camp

The Thesis/Dissertation Writing Retreat provides a quiet, supportive environment twice a year for students writing a master's thesis or doctoral dissertation (at any stage in the process). The Summer 2018 Camp will be held the weeks of May 14-25, 2018 at Jewell Hall and the W. T. Young Library.

Participants are expected to commit to writing from 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. each day and are encouraged to stay and work (and attend any optional sessions or writing consultations) through the afternoon and into the evening. Each participant will have a room with a study desk in a shared suite, and will have access to group common areas as well as all the nearby campus amenities (e.g., the new Student Center).

The cost is $40 (payable by check on the first day of camp), which helps cover the facilities fees.  The Graduate School will cover the remaining costs as well as breakfast items and study snacks.  Overnight accommodations in the residence hall, if needed by out-of-town participants, are not included and must be covered by the participant (contact Chad Gilpin about requesting accommodations).

Participants are responsible for their own parking arrangements.  Summer student permits are $9/week.  Information about parking is here.
